Prickly Pear – Sandy and Victor Sacramento Wedding
Sandy and Victor’s Prickly Pear Wedding
Prickly pear is a little local nursery in Sacramento that really focuses on cacti and desert plants. It started as a small little nursery and store, and it’s really grown into something bigger. Now they have beauty products, clothing, community outreach events, and of course, a beautiful venue for weddings and other special occasions. Mona Bahraini, the founder of The Prickly Pear, is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. Her energy, and the love she has for her business, really shine through in everything she does and every aspect of the nursery.
When Sandi and Victor decided to use this venue, I knew it was going to be a perfect fit. This is a unique location, very intimate, and it allowed them to set up just the perfect day to celebrate their relationship. We met for their engagement session first and they were so cute, so sweet together. We talked about the wedding and about how much we love Prickly Pear, so when I met them at Prickly Pear, I was so excited to see how they were making the day their own.
An Intimate Celebration
Sandi wanted to include her culture in the event, so her mom helped the two of them get ready in Mian attire and greet the guests with a tea ceremony. They offered tea to their elders and received blessings from them to start their life together. And after that special welcoming, they did an outfit change into their more Western outfits for the actual ceremony. They were married just in front of their closest family members, and the ceremony was actually officiated by Victor’s brother, Conrad. Conrad came all the way from Santa Cruz to be their officiant.
The ceremony was full of tears, laughter, and all kinds of excitement. You could see how lucky Sandi and Victor felt to be together, and how happy their family all were for them. After the ceremony, when the two of them walked away, they had a quiet moment together, overwhelmed with excitement and love from the ceremony and all those they had with them.
But the celebration did not end there; there was dinner and a reception full of dancing, and boy did they tear up the dance floor! Sandi got such an excited reaction when she came out in her reception dress, and everyone just had so much fun all evening. They even incorporated their dogs, who walked down the aisle with them and got to celebrate and party with them. They are such a fun couple, and the energy they brought to their event made it so unique and personal. Thank you two for an amazing celebration, and I am so excited for your next adventure.
