Zephyr Cove Engagement Session in the Winter

Meaghan and Logan’s Engagement Session at Zephyr Cove

Meaghan and Logan love the outdoors and always dreamed of a mountain wedding. However, it wasn’t in the stars for them. So instead, they decided to get those vibes with their engagement session at Zephyr Cove.  That way, they could still have that memory.

Located on the east side of Lake Tahoe in Nevada, Zephyr Cove is a perfect spot for an engagement session. It’s one of those rare locations that offers a little bit of everything for nature lovers. Featuring tree-lined walkways leading to this hidden cove with vibrant blue water and surrounded by mountains, its beauty is truly something to behold.

About the Engagement Session

There was a huge snowstorm in Lake Tahoe right before Meaghan and Logan’s session, so we actually ended up having to postpone it by a week in hopes of better weather. This was actually really lucky for us, because it was the first time it had snowed in Lake Tahoe all year, and now we had several feet of snow! Meaghan was really looking forward to a snowy session, and we took full advantage—even having a little bit of a snowball fight.

Expecting it to be quite cold, I came prepared with lots of layers and hand warmers for everyone. But it was actually pretty warm! We didn’t need all our extra layers or the handwarmers, and I even took off one of my two jackets. It got a little colder as the sun went down, but still definitely better than expected! We didn’t get sun, but it didn’t matter to Meghan and Logan. They were just there to have fun together and enjoy the day—nothing else mattered.

The water level was so low, we were able to walk out to the rocks and climb them which was really fun. Meaghan and Logan were down to do whatever. Logan is so sweet, attentive, and also hilarious. And Meagan is just adorable—she was smiling and laughing the whole day. I loved their joking banter, and you could just see how much these two love each other.

It was so much fun getting to know Meagan and Logan and hanging out with them. I can’t wait for their wedding in Gold Hill Gardens this October, and to meet Meaghan’s team of girls she speaks so highly of. It’s going to be fabulous!

More About Lake Tahoe’s East Shore

Toward the end of the shoot, we were all getting pretty hungry and really just wanted warm food! I highly recommended AleWorX in South Lake Tahoe if you’re travelling that way. It has delicious woodfire pizza and a great beer selection, definitely one of my tops for Tahoe!

Zephyr Cove is often thought of a summer destination but is absolutely stunning in the winter! With everything covered in white snow, it’s like a magical winter wonderland. There aren’t too many places in the world where you can have snow right on the glowing bright blue water with snow capped mountains in view. That’s what makes Lake Tahoe so special and iconic. It’s no wonder why so many people come to Tahoe throughout the year—to vacation, get married, elope here.

Zephyr Cove is popular in the summer, but is a lot less crowded in the winter, which is nice! And it’s still easily accessible—there’s lots of places around Tahoe that are closed for the winter, but the Zephyr Cove area is open for business year-round. I think it’s the perfect place for an engagement session! If you haven’t yet, you should definitely try to plan a visit in your future.

Such beautiful photos – love the mix of casual and dressed-up shots – that dress is amazing, the colour against the snow and trees is stunning! Thanks for sharing.

These are MAGIC. I love the location, and I love their outfits too! The burgundy dress pops so much at the end – amazing work!

OMG! Thank you! You are too sweet! They really nailed it with their outfits. When she walked out in that dress, my jaw dropped! It was perfection.

I can see why it’s popular on summer but, holy moly, is it STUNNING in the winter! I love your images, the couple look so sweet and content in each other’s company. And her second outfit is FIRE!!!

Wow, these are GORGEOUS!! I’ve never seen Zephyr Cove in the wintertime and it’s absolutely magical! You captured so much variety and sweet moments between them — I especially love the photos of them on the rocks — beautiful work!

Thank you Natalie. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with Tahoe. It’s just so beautiful all year round. I do love Zephyr Cove. There’s so much variety and it’s not over crowded in the Winter. So it’s an extra bonus.
